Abstract

|
Recurrent subluxation of the replaced femoral head following total replacement surgery of any type has rarely been reported. This is a case report of such a complication which could be diagnosed by clinical and radiological studies in a 61-year-old man. He underwent a total hip replacement for his symptomatic left hip with traumatic osteoarthritis seconary to the comminuted central fracture-dislocation. As a causative factor attributable to occurrence of this complication the authors have pointed out the extreme degree of hyperflexion and external rotation in flexion of the hip which is a prerequisite for the traditional sitting posture of the Korean.
